CALL FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH MATH-ART WORKS TO BRIDGES WATERLOO 2017

We are organizing a special “CHILDREN & YOUTH MATH-ART EXHIBIT” to be held July 30, 2017 at Bridges Public Day & Math-Art Expo in University of Waterloo, Canada.

THE EXHIBITION will feature 3 main topics:
1) Bridges drawn by children
2) Math-Art drawings by children
3) Math-Art structures built by children

There will be a screened exhibition as part of the Bridges Family Day Celebration. Find submission details below!

math copyArtists ages 4-18 years are invited to submit for exhibition in Bridges Family Day and at Jardin Galerie a drawing or painting of a BRIDGE. Or you may wish to submit a MATH-ART drawing/painting. Math-art work can be based upon your work at school and can be an artistic rendering of your favorite math-art idea or concept: structures, numbers, patterns, shapes, symmetry, synergy, subdivision, scale change, transformations, playful learning, creativity etc.

We are excited to welcome to the exhibition images of structures built at school or in workshops too: ZomeTool Constructions, Geodesic Domes, Jomili Constructions, Blockbuilding, Tessellations, GeoGebra Math-Art Projects, 4Dframe Constructions and Math/Art Games and Puzzles. The collection of the images is coordinated by several international experts in the field.

  •  You can send your original art or your images of structures built at school or in workshops to John Hiigli at 164 West 83rd Street (#1-R) NYC.
  • Or you can send an image (2 MB JPEG) or a link of a YouTube video (max. length: 30 sec) via e-mail: johnahiigli@gmail.com
  • Please place your NAME, AGE and WHERE YOU LIVE on the back of your artwork or in the subject line of your email.

In addition to the screened exhibition of artifacts by children and young adults there will be an online exhibition at Jardin Galerie Facebook at the end of July leading up to Bridges Family Day.
